A Doctor Who Party

So my family has become quite obsessed with the TV show "Doctor Who". In August we celebrated Cory's birthday. I decided to throw him a Dr. Who party.

I made a TARDIS out of the front door. I blindfolded Cory and took him outside. As I took the blind fold off, I played the sound clip of the TARDIS landing. And when we opened the front door, it was bigger on the inside with everyone waiting. I then played the theme song for the show.

Everyone, including his parents, was wearing a creature mask from the many episodes we had watched.

After we took pictures in our masks, I had Cory walk around and read all the fun quotes that we had posted around the room. One of my favorite quotes is "This is my timey-wimey detecter. Goes ‘ding’ when there’s stuff. Also it can boil an egg at 30 paces, whether you want it to or not, actually, so I've learned to stay away from hens. It’s not pretty when they blow!" The kids also helped color some pictures for the party.

On the blue table was a mini TARDIS and a plated of baby Adipose! The kids had a lot of fun making the Adipose from marshmallows. I also had constructed a Sonic Screwdriver out of a marker and pen.

I also made a pinata the shape of a Dalek! Cory thought it looked too cool to beat up, so we dumped the candy into a paper bag and beat that up instead.

Everyone had fun beating up the pinata. I had everyone wear the Ood mask that I had made. The cutest was seeing Kaitlyn trying to hit the pinata with the Ood mask on!

Lastly we brought out the cake. It was a mistake to make the cake out of Angel Food cake mix. It sort of collapsed after we placed a chocolate dome on top to create the Dalek's head. After we had Cory smash in the Dalek's head, the brains were distributed. Yum... gummy!

Of course Cory got a few Doctor Who presents. He got mini Lego Daleks and the best was a beautiful TARDIS tie for church!
